Look, It's a Cuttlebug Card!

Check out this card made using my Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls embossing folder. I love the ease of using this machine. Oh, and I love the new SEI patterned papers too. The new line is called Jolie Chocolat and it is yummy! I did not use a sentiment so that I could use the card for nearly any occasion.

Here's what I used:
card base: Paper Source
cardstock: Bazzill
patterned paper: SEI's Jolie Chocolat
ribbon: American Crafts
dry embossing: Cuttlebug

Wolrdwide Stamping Week Winner

I recently hosted my first challenge on Two Peas. It was nice to have sooooo many participants. The challenge was to use the Cuttlebug and stamping. Super simple and fun.

And the winner was: Gram-Pea!

I like the colors and the details and the creativity in this card.

I picked up a few items for the Random Act of Kindness (RAK) but I will pull it all together when I return home, not this week, but the following week. It will be worth the wait.

To see most of the other entries, for loads of inspiration, visit my TwoPeas blog.

Card Making While on Vacation ...

... can be very interesting. I brought along some basics like paper, adhesive, a few stamps, but I also left some basics like scissors and stamping ink. You see my quandary especially after looking @ this card that I attempted.

However, after a visit to the Great American Scrapbooking Convention (GASC) in Chantilly, VA, I am sort of on the right track. I had a really nice time there and picked up lots of goodies there:
  • New SEI Jolie Chocolat large paper pack
  • New SEI Jolie Chocolat small paper tablet
  • Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
  • American Crafts ribbon
  • Basic Grey paper tablets (Lily Kate and Sultry)
  • 4 bottles of liquid pearls
  • Heidi Swapp chipboard letters
  • Heidi Swapp script date stamp
  • Heidi Swapp 'favorite' stamp
  • Bazzill flowers
I was able to produce three mini-cards. (3.25x4.5) though I had to partially invade my sister's stash to accomplish that.

It will be July before I return home to my own personal stash ... remind me next time not to go on a three week vacation.

Worldwide Stamping Week Challenge

Okay folks ... over on Two Peas there is a great deal of fun to be had (and lots of prizes too).

It is Worldwide Stamping Week (WSW). It's an event that was started by some of the Peas on the Stamping Board. There are a gazillion challenges - some w/RAKs (random acts of kindness) and others just encouraging stampers to be creative. Lots of fun.

So much fun, that I decided to host my very first challenge: The Cuttlebug MID-WEEK Challenge (from Wednesday, June 18, 2008 until Saturday, June 21, 2008).

For details head over to Two Peas. Sorry, but in order to participate you will need to follow the guidelines that are posted there. There is a RAK, though that has not yet been determined since I am traveling.

Oh, but for this challenge, you need to use your Cuttlebug along w/some stamping. I love the Cuttlebug embossing, but you could just use a Cuttlebug die. Way too much fun, huh?

I hope that you join in.

It's the same thing, only different

So I've fallen in love w/my this little design. It's so simple and easy to put a card together. When I use the monogram I have the Photoshop template to work with or I can easily stamp a sentiment. I can use the Cuttlebug or not.

So here is a set of cards that I made for my girlfriends birthday. Now, if you ask "Did she get them on her birthday?" the answer is no. I will be hand delivering these babies.

Oh, but let me also say that I did not use ribbon or any foam adhesive (to give it some dimension) because I went to the post office the other day and they charged me 62 cents for postage on one of my cards. The reasoning: it's non-bendable - not because of the weight. What?
Here's what I used:
cardstock: craft supply and Die Cuts With A View (DCWV)
patterned paper: My Mind's Eye
sentiment created using Adobe Photoshop CS3
scalloped circle die cut: Quickutz
scalloped edge: Fiskars Threading Water Punch

New Home Cards

Some of my friends are thrilled that it summer and I have been making cards non-stop. I have a friend who is relocating and she loves to send our note cards. So I volunteered to make some cards for her and her hubby.

I like these. They were easy enough and fun. What I like that you can't see is that I used the computer to print their new address on the inside (I just thought that maybe I should have included their cell phone numbers too - oh, well). I only made 12, but that's a start. I won't have the entire summer to make cards, ya know ...

Here's what I used:
cardstock: Bazzill and craft supply
patterned paper: Basic Grey
ribbon: various
stamp: Michaels $1
ink: VersaMark
embossing powder: Ranger
square punch: Marvy

More Bazzill Just the Edge Cardstock Strips

Here are two more cards that I made using the Bazzill Just the Edge Cardstock Strips. The card above was a part of an article that I wrote on Craft Critique.

I did not have room for the other card as a part of the article. I love the simplicity of this card and I do like the fat zig zag strip.

Here's what I used for the card at the top:
cardstock: Archiver's
cardstock strip: Bazzill
patterned paper: Basic Grey's Boxer
ribbon: unknown
buttons: American Crafts
stamps: Hero Arts

other: sewing

Here's what I used for the card below:

Craft Critique :: Bazzill Just The Edge Strips

I have an article up on Craft Critique about Bazzill's Just The Edge Cardstock Strips. I grabbed these when I first spotted them.

I like this card. I am improving on my sewing. I wanted to paint the tab on the side, but I did not get around to that.

I like this edge. Funny thing is I purchased the strips before I got my hands on the Fiskars Threading Water Punch which has the same shape.

Here's what I used:
cardstock: Archiver's
cardstock strips: Bazzill
patterned paper: Basic Grey's Boxer
chipboard flower: Colorbok
tab sentiment embellishment: Making Memories
sentiment: created using Adobe Photoshop CS3
ribbon: Michaels
circle punch: EK Success

Using Some Scraps ...

... I was trying to do something different and unique. The end result is not quite what I had in mind, but I kinda like it. The tag is chipboard. I tried to heat emboss w/platinum embossing powder. The look is okay, but not the best.

I also got the scalloped look buy using my corner rounder. Oh, and the sewing; I am just keeping at it. I still need to work on my corners.

Ut oh, late again!

My step-father's birthday was on Monday. Shame on me - a card maker who doesn't get the cards out on time. Yep, that's me. Lucky me I've got this cute little "Happy Belated Birthday" stamp to smooth things over (and it might help if I put a little something in the card, right?).

Oh, I used a sketch from Triple the Sketch's blog.

Here's what I used:
cardstock: Bazzill
patterned paper: Basic Grey
ribbon: Michaels
stamp: Kathy Davis/Inkadinkadoo
ink: VersaMark
embossing powder: Ranger
brackets: Bazzill Just The Edge Cardstock Strips
vellum: The Paper Studio

sketch this :: 53

Over at sketch this, the weekly sketches are posted on Tuesdays. There's one sketch for both scrapbook pages and cards (or any other projects that you'd like use it for).

So I needed a birthday card for my friend; now let's just hope that it arrives to her in time or nearly in time. I think that she will love the pink and brown - she's so chic (an interior designer).

Here's what I used:
cardstock: Bazzill and Die Cuts With A View (DCWV)
patterned paper: Basic Grey
sentiment: created using Adobe Photoshop CS3
ribbon: Joann
embossing: Cuttlebug
circle punches: EK Success
other: distressing

cps :: 67

I had lots of fun w/this week's Card Positioning Systems (cps) sketch. I recently purchased the Quickutz mini album Revolution dies. They worked well for this card. I did some heat embossing and I distressed the edges too. I wanted to make it more masculine since I had planned to send to a longtime friend. TFL.

Here's what I used:
cardstock: Bazzill and Die Cuts With A View (DCWV)
patterned paper: Basic Grey
stamps: Hero Arts (special, so much, many, thanks, and thanks a lot) and Heidi Swapp (Merci)
ink: VersaMark
embossing powder: Ranger
mini album page die: Quickutz
ribbon: Morex
