Card Making with a Purpose

I made this card as a submission for the 2 Sketches 4 You Design Team. Unfortunately I did not make the cut - not this time. I'll try again in the Spring. Congrats to the new DT; their work looks awesome.

But do I love this card? Heck yeah! It has a lot going for it: colors, texture and just plain old fun.

You can vaguely see that I stamped on the Thickers. I used a Tim Holtz's Tattered Rose which is a light shade of pink. I stamped w/a stamp w/writing on it. I do like that look. Additionally, I used my Cuttlebug along w/a Cuttlebug die to cut through the felt for the flower. I like the mix of patterns on top of the Bazzill Bling. I think this one really came together.

Thanks for looking ... here's what I used:
cardstock: Bazzill Bling
patterned paper: Basic Grey, Creative Imaginations, K&Co.
letter stickers: American Crafts Gift Box Thickers
ribbon: Wrights
felt: unknown
other: sewing
button: Foof a la
floss: DMC

Thanks :: sketch this 62

I'm just sketching away - using sketches that is.

This time sketch this is the culprit. Now, what is interesting is that I posted a card similar to this a few weeks back. I was working on both cards at the same time, but I was so exhausted that I never finished this much larger version. So seeing this week's sketch was my motivation to get it done.

I mentioned that it is big - 6x6 to be exact. I probably could have gone w/5.5x5.5, but I know that I have an envelope that I can put this one in. Got the envelope @ Hollo's (they will take your order over the phone if you know exactly what you want; wonderful place).

Now I'm off to figure out a FREE replacement for Photoshop: Splashup, Photoshop Express and others. I need to add text to a .png file. Trying to make more monograms.

Thanks for looking ... here's what I used:
cardstock: Bazzill
patterned paper: Basic Grey
dry embossing: Cuttlebug
metal charm: Making Memories
flower: Bazzill
button: Foof a la
ink: VersaMagic
pearls: ??
floss: DMC
other: sewing

Happy 4th of July and cps :: 71

Happy 4th of July Americans! Nice to have a day to celebrate our independence.

So I'm back in the saddle and producing a trough of cards. I joined a group on Splitcoast Stampers called RAK (random acts of kindness). It's pretty much means just that - we send out cards to other group members as a random act of kindness, oh, and for birthdays too. Which is why I made this card using this week's Card Positioning Systems (cps) sketch.

Here's what I used:
cardstock: craft supply
patterned paper: K&Co.
ribbon: Michaels
stamp: Heidi Swapp
ink: VersaMagic
scalloped ovals: Nestabilities
flower die cut: Sizzix
chipboard: DCWV
button: Dress It Up
flower bling: Hero Arts
floss: DMC
